You need a mentor... here’s why:
It’s common for us TCK/MKs to have so many paths and decisions before us, and it’s easy to feel alone, misunderstood, or like we’re meant to “figure it out on our own." The presence of a caring, compassionate, and Christ-like mentor in our life, can have a huge positive impact! You’ll be surprised to see how encouraged and enriched you are as you share life with a mentor.
Being mentored means saying, “I want to learn from a mentor's experience, and honestly share with them what’s going on in my life.”

“A mentor can make all the difference.”
Becoming a mentor isn’t complicated, but it is costly: it requires availability, accountability, and adaptability. Being a mentor is about being present, having good listening skills and the humility to offer our own life experience for the mentee to learn from.
On a regular basis you as a mentor make room in your life to listen and care for a mentee. You get to open up with vulnerability and say, “Here are all the ways I’ve failed, and some of the ways I’ve succeeded; take whatever is helpful!”
Mentoring can have more of an advising/coaching dynamic to it, it can be for a specific aspect of life (i.e. relationships, business, education, etc.), or it can simply be a deep and consistent friendship of intentionality and building one another up.”
