Ruth and Mark Boughan
"Alongsiders" Ministry
Two 'finishers' (serving in retirement), providing support services to the MORE Network in Canada, and seeking short-term care ministry to cross-cultural workers around the world as Alongsiders.
Finishers are retired and semi-retired believers who feel the call of God to use their life and work experience in missions ministry in order to 'finish well'. Mark & Ruth will be the first 'Alongsiders' and will be available to go to a field to assist serving workers in whatever manner is needed.
They've been married since 1976 and have raised three children. Ruth has worked in inner-city missions in the areas of spousal abuse and food/clothing banks and then served as a classroom teacher of severely autistic children. Mark has pastored, directed a Youth for Christ branch, ministered in the inner city, founded a social agency for young adults in crisis, and served 22 years in Bible colleges as: professor (in theology, ethics, counselling, and organizational change/crisis), student dean, academic dean, and president. It's been a life of trusting God and following him to places and people in need.
